Key Admissions Dates

The following is a list of the upcoming admissions dates and deadlines for students planning on enrolling for the 2011-2012 school year. Any questions regarding any of these events or dates may be sent to Rob Bell, Director of Admissions,or Laura Podergois, Admissions Associate.

SEPTEMBER 1:  Applications accepted.

OCTOBER 20 – MAY 14:  Students may take advantage of our Shadow Program, offering them the opportunity to visit Holy Family for an entire school day. Guests are paired with a student with similar interests and they can experience a typical day in our school. Parents are required to call in advance to schedule a shadow day for their child.

NOVEMBER 9:  Fall Open House | 6:30pm

DECEMBER1:  Early Application Deadline. Incoming ninth graders and 2010-11 transfer students must submit an Application for Enrollment by this date to guarantee choice of classes, meet the deadline for financial aid application, and have their class registration fee waived (freshmen only). A $200 application fee must accompany the application and, if done by this date, Holy Family will waive the $100 freshman class registration fee.  Students may continue to apply for enrollment throughout the school year and summer months.

JANUARY 13:  Winter Open House | 6:30pm

JANUARY 5 – FEBRUARY 23:  Applications for financial aid must be requested from HFCHS and will be available to students who have submitted an Application for Enrollment. Tuition for 2011-2012 will be set by the school's Board of Directors during late fall or early winter. Tuition for 2010-11 is $11,880.

JANUARY 22:  Placement Tests for prospective ninth graders will be administered at 8:00 am. This is not an entrance exam; it is a test that allows for HFCHS to place the student in a course level where they can experience success. For students with an enrollment application on file there is no charge. All other students will be charged a $25 fee for the Placement Exam, and students should plan on arriving by 7:50 am. Students do not need calculators for this exam. In order to avoid conflicting with family plans, this year's placement test has been intentionally moved off of Martin Luther King weekend.

LATE JANUARY:  Registration Materials Distributed. All returning and transferring students entering grades 10, 11, and 12 will receive registration materials for the upcoming school year. Registration must be completed and submitted to the school—including completed tuition contracts—by Monday, March 7, along with a $150 registration fee. After March 7, the fee increases to $200.

FEBRUARY 14 or FEBRUARY 21:  Freshman Class Registration. Families may attend whichever evening fits their schedule best; both evenings begin promptly at 6:30 pm and there is no advantage to attending one session over the other. At this time placement test scores will be provided to families, tuition contracts will be collected, and students will register for their 2011-12 classes. Students who apply to Holy Family after the school's Early Application Deadline must also submit a $100 class registration fee.   Students may continue to register for classes throughout the school year and summer months.

FEBRUARY 24:  Financial Aid Request Deadline. Requests for financial aid forms should be made to HFCHS by this date. All Archdiocesan high schools are provided independent financial need analyses from the same service. The financial aid application must be completed and returned directly to the service with the appropriate documentation and application fee. Only one application per family is required. Applications submitted by March 1 will be given priority consideration.  Requests for financial aid may be made after the priority deadline.

March 1:  Lasallian Scholar Award Deadline. Completed application, including typed essay and adult recommendation, should be postmarked to the school no later than March 1.

EARLY SPRING:  Financial Aid Awarded to families qualifying for tuition assistance. Families will be contacted by the school and receive updated contracts to be returned to the school immediately. Contracts become binding on July 1.  Families applying after the March 1 priority deadline will be contacted regarding financial aid awards as soon as possible, but can expect that it may be at a date later than the priority deadline recipients.

END OF SCHOOL YEAR:  Freshmen who wish to register for second-year language study or math beyond Algebra I should register for the appropriate placement tests.

JULY 1:  Tuition contracts for the upcoming school year become legally binding.
