BREAKOUT PERFORMER OF THE YEAR
From under the radar to key performer (athletics or activities)
Dylan Ehlers’ Soccer Season

Playing midfield his whole life Dylan took up the new role of goalie the summer going into the 2020 season. His first-ever game at goalie was the first game of the HF Boys Varsity soccer season against the #4 ranked team in the state Orono. Dylan went on the help the Fire achieve a 9-2-3 season as well as only allowing an Outstanding 1.14 Goal per game on average despite only playing the position for less than a year.

Julia Red Wing Breakout Performer of the Year

Julia was a major contributor on the soccer team in the Fall. This track season she has dominated multiple events including breaking records in triple jump and pole vault. With our canceled season last year while we knew she would be good for us this season I don’t know we truly had a picture of just HOW GOOD!
BEST GAME
Best performance by a team in a single day of competition (athletics or activities)
HF Girl’s Varsity Basketball Win with 4 Players
January 19th Girls Basketball defeated Annandale by 3 points on a last-second 3 pointer by Sophie Hall WITH only 4 girls on the court… other 2 fouled out. This was one of the coolest games I have ever witnessed and deserves to be recognized.
HF Boys Basketball Team—A game of true team effort
Rival game with SW Christian on Feb 25. HF has 5 varsity players out in quarantine including 3 starters. All Fire players step up and play a strong SW team holding them to 33 points in the first half. Fire have a season high 48 points in first half. Fire fight off a push by SW to win by 2 on a last second shot by Braylon Cummings. Fire have a season game high of 82 points with 8 of 10 players scoring. A strong fast paced team effort by the Fire!

Spencer Lewin and Owen Lund
Bomb Show vs Rockford Powers Baseball Victory
Spencer drilled a 2-run shot into the neighbor’s yard pulling the Fire back from a big deficit and Owen followed with a 3-run shot his first career homerun providing the game winning runs over Rockford.
Alexa Cuadros
Best Moment/Play
Alexa broke a record in the shot put that has stood since 2010. Alexa is a Senior Captain hard worker and among one of the best throwers I have coached in my career. She has been eyeing this record for a long time. With a cancelled season last year she waited extra long.
Girls Basketball AND/OR Sophi Hall
Four on the Floor for Fire – Walk Off 3-Pt Shot for Win
Basketball is hard enough with a full squad but the Fire girls tied a hand behind their back getting into foul trouble and faced down Annandale in the early season with just four players for much of the final quarter. Down 60-59 with 14.2 seconds left the Fire offense cleared Hall for a deep 3 and she drained it to walk off the win.
Collin Nawrocki
Collin’s First Goal Ever
Watching him celebrate his first goal of his soccer career was priceless. Who needs to witness a winning goal at a World Cup Final when you can be part of this.
Mary Furlong
Goal vs. Watertown-Mayer
Mary’s goal sealed a 4-2 victory for Holy Family over an undefeated Watertown Mayer team and placed a dent in their hopes of a conference title.

Noah Seck
Noahs Clutch free Throws
Noah sank two free throws to win the game against providence academy to send the team to the section finals
Catherine Dueck
Delano 200 Touch out
Catherine was asked by her coach a pretty tall order. She needed to beat a senior from Delano in the 200 free by swimming a best time and also win the 500 free. She was able to win the 200 free by a touch out come back and win the 500 free and still have big swims on the relays. Her performance got her some local press including a section highlighting the impressive group of HF swimmers specifically.’Holy Family Catholic freshman Catherine Dueck had a perfect week in her individual events. Dueck took the top spot against Delano in the 200 and 500 freestyle and against Waconia in the 50 and 100 freestyle.’
